About Membra Disjecta

Our mission is to give voice to some of the amazing authors and artists on the web. We’re trying to improve the signal to noise ratio to bring you great things to read, see, and hear, often free or at low cost.

Membra Disjecta is sponsored by Drollerie Press, and we include links to some currently available works from DP at the bottom of the front page. Some of our works are by authors published by Drollerie Press, but we welcome works by all authors in any genre, unpublished or published in any ‘zine or by any publisher. We include bios, a link to the author’s website, and their preferred link to where their work can be purchased.

We spotlight an author, ‘zine, small press, movement, artist, musician, and/or organization in every issue. We’re here to support their efforts, so if you know of one who deserves the limelight, please let us know.

One of our original goals was to provide reviews, first of ebooks, and then we added chapbooks both of fiction and of poetry, and we’re always open to publishing reviews of music. In June of 2009, we’ll be adding ebooks specifically available from many local public libraries, since ebook checkouts are growing by leaps and bounds, and we’ll be reviewing other books, both hardback and paperback, from small presses. While we love the free and low cost, sometimes we want something with a little heft. If we’re spending that much money, we want to be sure the book is worth it.

We welcome submissions of reviews, stories, poetry, art, and media in any genre, that cross genres, that start new genres, or that intersect mediums and genres combined.

If you run across something you think we might enjoy, please let us know: gemsATmembradisjectaDOTcom.
